The Strange Boom in the Popularity of Shorter URLs
It was recently noted that bit.ly took over as the #1 “url shortening service” to twitter users, besting the oldest and most well-known of such services, http://tinyurl.com/. Some 46% of shortened links redirect through the service.
Lately though, I keep stumbling onto more and more short URL services.
Here’s a post at Mashable that lists… get this… 90 of them.
